When you arrive at the Rheidol Riding Centre, you will find a delightful blend of human and equine friendships.  Located at Capel Bangor in the heart of Wales, it is a convenient, relaxing oasis not far from the seaside town and University of Wales, Aberystwyth.  Whatever your horse interests, you will find the Rheidol Riding Centre a very special place for horse and horseman.

Situated in acres of beautiful hills and forests, Rheidol Riding Centre is a school dedicated to the art of riding, education and recreation.  There's a place for everyone; the competitive student and for the less competitive we offer an idyllic setting for pleasurable riding.

Our instructors are certified.  We offer a high standard in teaching.  Our staff caters to both the child rider and the adult and pays special attention to those who are afraid of getting on a horse for the first time.  The staff at Rheidol Riding Centre are diverse in the areas of personal riding interests and teaching styles; however, all riding instructors here are well qualified and have similar goals for our students: fun, safety, and a solid all around knowledge of horses and riding.   

For your safety, approved riding helmets and hard-soled shoes with a heel must be worn.  Riding pants, chaps or long loose fitting slacks are recommended for your comfort.

The most important things we stress are respect for the horse, a good attitude, safety, and fun.  In our program, we do not push achievement in the show ring.  All too often, people feel that in order to be an accomplished equestrian they have to win in horse shows.  We emphasize that what matters is testing your skills and performing at your best, not the ribbons you win.  Learning correct and classical riding principles can be tremendously challenging .  Once a solid foundation is built for the horse and rider both can grow within it.  With consistency and a proper attitude this pursuit can be very self-satisfying and the ribbons will follow

We offer a wide range of activities to suit all abilities and ages:-
You can go out for a one or two hour hack to enjoy the panoramic views of the valley - riding through woodlands and meadows and alongside lakes, and rivers - on steady, reliable horses, while the little Vale of Rheidol steam train puffs its way up to Devil's Bridge. It may be possible to do half-day or whole day rides.

You might like to take some riding or jumping lessons and we cater for complete beginners, adults or chldren, up to training for BHS AI Examination level.

    Instruction in Stable Management can be arranged.

We can school or re-school your horse for you and also offer Full. Part, DIY or Grass Liveries, excellent stabling facilities, fodder and track storage and all-weather outdoor menage.

Rheidol Riding Centre is conveniently situated in the picturesque Rheidol Valley, just 5 miles from the town of Aberystwyth, on the banks of the River Rheidol - a Trout and Salmon river.

Please come dressed sensibly for the weather - warm or waterproof clothing and shoes with a small heel if possible.
